My Review

“Your love is all I need to feel complete.”

When I picked up LOVE.EXE for my weekend read, I didn’t know that it would turn out to so heartwarming. Since it has been incessantly raining at my place for many days, this light rom-com just accompanied me perfectly in the warmth of my blanket with a cup of coffee.

At its heart is a girl Nitya who is bubbling with energy to soar high in her life. Her dreams pull her to San Francisco where she immerses herself in the pursuit of her goals. She eventually realizes that her heart has been tucked to someone else’s. The novel is filled with love, humor sprinkled here or there and garnished with attractive expressions. The love story of Nitya and Ganapaty stole my heart. Both the characters pulled off the whole narrative really well.

Nitya represents a modern girl who is determined to achieve her dreams. She does not hesitate to work hard and put soul into whatever she does to accomplish her goals. I was in awe of this pretty girl. She is fearless and brilliant as she makes her way to the top university on her own. She inspires with her hard work. The chitchats between her and her amma amused me in many instances. Their little acts of affection made me happy.

Ganapaty is a handsome and responsible man, kind at heart and gentle in his demeanor. He carries out his responsibilities towards his family and continues to love Nitya despite her cold shoulder behavior. His actions expressing his love for his lady brought a smile to my face. The revelation of his plan with Nitya’s parents to win her confidence and love back made me love this character even more.

The chemistry between Nitya and Ganapaty is described beautifully. The parallel author draws between computer software installation and love is fantastic. Something pure and instinctive present between the two young hearts strikes a chord with my heart as well. There are no steamy scenes, unlike other novels, to show the brewing love. In fact, the simplicity of the book captivated me.

There was flow, a smooth one. You couldn’t stop reading it because the excitement pushes you to go ahead and discover what lies in the store for us.

The book maintains its pace and keeps you engaged all the way from Calicut to the chilly atmosphere of San Francisco. The description of Napa Valley and the point where Ganapaty takes Nitya to the moon was awe inspiring.

I would even like to mention the commendable role played by Nitya’s father in supporting her dreams. He does not care enough about the society as he considers his daughter’s happiness to be his topmost priority.

The author has done a good job of penning down LOVE.EXE which is sure to install in the hearts of all those who are still unaware of this beautiful emotion. There is love, friendship, dreams, responsibilities, jealousy, tears of disappointment, tears of amazement, care, affection and kindness running across the book. The topic of gay relationships has also been taken up in the book which is praiseworthy. With a proper inclusion of right words and expressions, the author blended human emotions to create a magical tale of love which is unconditional and adorable.
