Love Her Wild by Atticus – Book Review

We let our lives, mix with our dreams, like two colored paints, until we didn’t know which was what, and we didn’t care.

Atticus is an Instagram sensation famous for his poetry ranging from love to heartbreak and everything starry. I have been following him for his exquisite one-liners which are filled with beauty one really can’t overlook. So, when I picked up this book, I had high hopes which came crashing down as soon as I was few pages into it.

Modern poetry has taken a toll on poetry as an art. Just a few words arranged in different lines really don’t form a poem. (I Just need/ You/ And/ Some/ Sunsets) A few of the pages do contain poems and they are beautiful. They made some sense to me while the rest of the one-liners made me scream inside. Why ‘contemporary poetry’ has destroyed ‘poetry’ completely? This random musings stuff suit very well on Instagram and Tumblr but to compile a book out of them is unacceptable to me. So, to the people with a rich taste of poetry and literature, refrain from reading this one. And to the people who want a crisp, amusing, short read, you may go ahead!
