My Review

If you give love a chance…

Poetry is one of my favorite genres. Poetry is the balm for my frayed nerves and home to my tired self. With this book, I have been officially thrown into a realm of poetry and I am super happy to spend my December in the company of chime of the poems. So, thanks to this book 🙂

Old Soul Story by Vishakha Rupawat is a gorgeous tapestry of delightful beads of poetry on love. Each poem traces the simplicity and profundity of love, expresses its softness and tenderness with wonderfully put words, and makes a way for us to absorb love in its most raw and genuine form. The poems do voice an old soul deeply and completely in love. The poems are written simply and most of them don’t follow any rhyme and yet you find music in the words. They definitely do not belong to the complicated defined structure of poetry but tickles your hearts wit its melody. Amidst the nitty-gritty of love, it paves a way for you to feel complete within you and then experience love. It emphatically speaks about the hesitation and the reluctance of a bruised heart in loving the other. It captures the real emotions and mirrors our true and flawed ‘self.’

I personally found a few poems very relatable and I was wondering how could someone else weave my heart perfectly. I enjoyed reading this one and would definitely recommend it to poetry lovers. The classic hardcover and lyrical poems would touch you tenderly. Also, the beauty and depth of the personal letter in the last made it even more amazing.

You can pick this one for your lazy weekends, cozy afternoons, and might take in a few poems – one at a time. Take them slowly. Don’t gulp them down, feel them. I hope this book warms your heart.
