Have you experienced any major digital transformation in your life?

How to kill your b/oss and get away with it by Neeraj Bhople is a step by step guide to digitally transform your organization. It is a book that presents to you the what, why, and how of the process of digital transformation. All of us would agree that digital transformation is a crucial aspect for any organization to survive and thrive in this competitive world. The leaders need to get away with the old business support systems and operation support systems and that’s what b/oss in the title means.

Although the book is intended for all the company executives willing to begin their journey of digital transformation, I personally feel that it would serve its purpose to all us. Aren’t we all digitalized these days? I believe that a few concepts in the book might help you as well regardless of your profession.

The book kickstarts by explaining digital transformation in great detail.  It then details how the phenomenon could be applied to different domains and industries such as marketing, sales, and logistics. It also talks about the important roles for the transformation and how they’d shape it. From the digital maturity assessment to the important digital trends and methodologies, the book covers it all. In this regard, a few case studies are also included to substantiate the points made. Towards the end, the author also touches upon how can we exactly make it a success.

The writing style is simple and narration is smooth. The author has tried to keep the content as simple as possible and still, it would benefit the people involved in business work a tad bit more. It would help those who look forward to innovating in business. In addition to this, if only a more realistic approach toward the concept was adopted, the book would have turned out to be fairly interesting. For now, it is more of academic centric stuff and you’d need to be actually interested in digital technologies in order to grasp it fully.

MY RATING: 4/ 5
