THINK DESIGN LIVE: How to Unblock Your Mind and Live Your Dreams by Pialee Mukherjee is a very well researched book that educates and informs in the right proportions. The book primarily talks about designing and crafting your life the way you want it to be. It addresses the challenges, discusses methods to get over the roadblocks, and delivers promising solutions.

The book is divided into several chapters and each of them talks about an individual problem. Each chapter has a quote right at the beginning and at the end. The crisp and communicative writing style of the author makes the overall presentation of the book very good. What I particularly loved was how the author went on to draw facts from science and philosophy to substantiate her points. The interspersing of different disciplines resulted in fine reading material.

The book encourages you to think and engage with it actively. For instance, “Your greatest potential self is usually what your deepest yearnings are. Whilst redesigning your life, you need to integrate your core values and set smaller goals to realign aspects that are incongruent to your values.” The subjects like negative self-talk, emotional quotient, happiness, etc concerning any individual are dealt with clearly. This definitely helps one in deriving value out of the book for self-improvement.

If in a few words I had to sum up the book, I would express it through the words written towards the end of the book –

“The ideas and processes that you have learned in this book may initially appear quite simple until you start putting them into practice. The second stage of learning is where you need to resist the urge of giving up. In the third stage persist, practice and repeat. At this stage, you will need discipline, dedicated action, and perseverance. Mistakes and roadblocks are your learning ground. You will learn to steer the course with both dexterity and flexibility, and make both informed as well as intuitive decisions. Finally, you become more competent—this is the more empowered ‘You’.”
